Oftentimes, kidney disease or also known as renal failure is brought about by the long term use of prescription and over the counter medications, being exposed to pesticides and other environmental toxins, as well as, other illnesses and diseases. Symptoms of this disease include having chronic back problems, dizziness, blood in the urine, change in the urine patterns, nausea and vomiting. In the early stage, kidney disease treatment may include phosphorus-lowering medications or ones that stimulate your red blood cell production.

The loss of kidney function over hours to days is called acute kidney injury, it is also known as acute renal failure (ARF). This can occur following a traumatic injury with blood loss, the sudden reduction of blood flow to the kidneys, damage to the kidneys from shock during a severe infection called sepsis, obstruction to urine flow, or damage from certain drugs or toxins.

Acute kidney injury can also occur from a complication of pregnancy, such as eclampsia, pre-eclampsia, or related HELLP Syndrome.

Marathon runners and other athletes who don't drink enough fluids while competing in long-distance endurance events may suffer acute kidney injury due to a sudden breakdown of muscle tissue. This muscle breakdown releases a chemical called myoglobin that can damage the kidneys.

On the other hand, when the patient's kidney disease is more serious, the health care provider may advise the patient to be on dialysis and or may even tell him that he needs a kidney transplant. However, most people will still look for other alternatives for treating this condition.

Natural kidney disease treatment includes taking western herbs that may lend a hand in detoxifying your kidneys and/or functions as diuretics in order to get high levels of uric acid. These herbs include include corn silk, celery, buchu, parsley, dandelion, red clover, uva ursi and juniper berries. As a safety measure, first consult with your physician prior to taking any of these herbs, especially if you are already taking prescription drugs or other conventional treatments for your condition.

You can also drink three glasses of unsweetened cranberry juice every day. It greatly helps in killing harmful bacteria and makes your urine more acidic. Aside from that, you can also try catnip tea enema to help cleanse your system from impurities.

Kidney disease treatment also includes trying common Ayurvedic herbs that help with improving kidney function. These Ayurdevic herbs include gokshur or tribulus terrestris, punarnava , kaasni and varun. However, it is still best to consult with your doctor about the herbs that you want to take. In addition to that, you can also incorporate foods that will help build up your kidneys such as sprouts, garlic, legumes, seeds, potatoes, bananas, papayas, watermelon and green vegetables.
