In order to maintain good health, you have to eat well. Healthy eating is one of the things that can help you feel better even in your most difficult and low times. With this in mind, it is important to know how it is that you are going to maintain a clean eating routine once you have embarked on the journey. This can prove to be difficult especially if you have not been eating healthy. But the best thing about it is that the results are beneficial and more fun than you could ever imagine.

To start with, ensure that you eat starchy foods in all your meals. Starchy foods contain a lot of fiber and this helps you feel that you are full for a longer period of time. With this in mind, it is important to go for whole grains as much as possible. When it comes to nutrition planning, you should ensure that the starch takes up a third of the foods that you are eating in a single meal. Starchy foods are not as fattening as most people think and in fact they contain only half the calories of fat in a gram.

Fruits and vegetables can never be enough when it comes to maintaining a healthy eating lifestyle. There are very many different types of fruits and vegetables available. It is advisable to eat at least 5 different types of these fruits and vegetables in a day to help in the maintenance of fitness and health. With this in mind, you can take one glass of fruit juice that is 100% pure without adding any sweeteners. This counts as a different type of fruit and the best thing about it is that you can include different fruits in a single portion of juice. When it comes to vegetables you can cook them in the meals that you are eating hence you do not have to eat them separately to maintain clean eating.

Fish is considered to be one of the best sources of proteins, minerals and vitamins. This means that in order to maintain healthy eating you will need to eat more fish in a week. It is advisable to eat at least 2 meals that include fish in a week and one of these meals should include oily fish. This is mainly because oily fish is a good source of omega 3 fats which greatly help in the prevention of heart diseases. The best thing about it is that you can be able to choose from fresh, canned or frozen fish depending on what you desire. There are times that smoked and frozen fish have a lot of salt and therefore, be careful not to take in a lot of that.

Ensure that you eat less of saturated sugar and fat. It is a clear fact that every single individual needs sugar and fat in the body to function properly. However, there are saturated and unsaturated foods. Saturated ones increase the amount of cholesterol in the body and this prevents clean eating. Cut down on such foods to help the body in fitness and health.
