There are so many labour brawls in the world. One of the problems that cause these conflicts is the lack of an environment that protects the workers’ fitness. Private Medical Insurance ensures workers are protected if they fall sick in the company.

It shows that the company has put necessary measures to ensure workers are safe from the perils of every working environment. It also minimizes the need to have replacement employees when several workers fall sick.

As one of your most important business assets, it pays to have happy and healthy staff. ‘Employee absence cost employers more than 13 billion in 2006 alone’. (Confederation of British Industry).

The Health and Safety Executive states that ‘work related stress accounts for over a third of all new incidences of ill health’. Many insurers now offer stress help lines providing valuable support for your employees and an effective absence management tool.

That’s why more and more businesses are choosing to offer Private Medical Insurance. Unfortunately, selecting the scheme that offers your business value for money from the hundreds on the market can often be confusing and extremely time consuming.

To give an example:

A permanent employee earning £29,000 per year is struck with a knee injury and is unable to attend work:

If the company does not have private health insurance
The employee might be neglected because of lack of sufficient funds to get professional attention. He or she will not receive adequate treatment or it will be after a very long waiting period.

If the company has Private Medical Insurance
The employee will be fit within the shortest time; it will cost less; therefore there is no need for a replacement.

The company does not have to worry about incurring costs in compensations if the sick employees decide to sue for neglect especially when they are injured in the workplace.
